When I started creating the Damelotuyo portrait series, I knew that one of the first pieces I wanted to make was a tribute to the remarkable Harriet Tubman. Her lifelong fight against slavery and her unwavering support for women's rights has been an absolute inspiration to many. Her courage continues to be a source of awe and inspiration even today. It was an honor to capture her essence through this painting as words alone cannot express the admiration and respect I have for this historical icon. I hope that this portrait will serve to bring this brave woman into contemporary conversations about heroism and justice.
