Vermont Academy at Mount Snow

Carolina Alvarado Herald is excited to propose a dynamic and enriching summer art camp for children entering grades 1 through 5. Designed to foster creativity, build confidence, and introduce young artists to a wide range of artistic media, this camp will offer a fun, supportive environment where imagination can flourish.

About the Camp

  • Who: Kids entering 1st to 5th grade

  • When: Mondays–Fridays, 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM

  • Duration: 5 individual weeks of hands-on art-making

  • Where: Vermont Academy at Mount Snow, West Dover, Vermont

  • Class Size: Limited to 10–15 students for personalized attention

  • Cost: $50 per week

Each week features new projects tailored to various ages and skill levels, ensuring every child feels engaged, successful, and inspired. 

7/7/25 - 7/11/25 Painting Workshop

Young artists will explore their creativity through fun and engaging painting projects using watercolor, tempera, and mixed media. Students will learn foundational techniques while experimenting with color, texture, and composition to express their unique ideas. All skill levels are welcome!

7/14/25 - 7/18/25 Ceramics Workshop

In this hands-on workshop, students will explore the art of clay through fun and age-appropriate projects. They’ll learn basic hand-building techniques like pinch, coil, and slab construction to create both functional and sculptural pieces. All work will be created with self-drying clay and painted!

7/21/25 - 7/25/25 Found Art Sculpture Workshop

In this imaginative workshop, students will transform everyday and recycled materials into unique works of art. Using a variety of found objects, young artists will learn basic sculpture techniques while exploring creativity, problem-solving, and environmental awareness. Each creation tells a story—no two are alike!

7/28/25 - 8/1/25 Ceramics Workshop

8/4/25 -8/8/25 Printmaking Workshop

Young artists will discover the exciting world of printmaking through fun, hands-on projects. Students will explore techniques such as stamping, relief printing, and monoprinting using safe, age-appropriate materials. Each session encourages creativity and experimentation while building foundational art skills.

Timeline

The program will run Monday through Friday, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, over the course of 5 weeks, with class sizes limited to 10–15 students to ensure individualized attention.
