VAMS Youth Extended Program (YEP) offers a welcoming, creative space where young artists can explore their imaginations, learn new skills, and build confidence.
About the Program
The VAMS Extended Youth Programs is offering After-School Workshops for children in Grades 1–6 a fun, in a creative space to explore the visual arts. In this 4 week program, young artists will experiment with painting, drawing, clay, sculpture, and basic printmaking while developing their confidence, critical thinking skills, and creative problem solving skills.
Classes run Monday through Friday from 3:30 to 5:30, with small group sizes to ensure each child receives personalized guidance and encouragement. Flexible scheduling allows families to work with their own schedules. No prior art experience is required–just curiosity and a willingness to create!
Led by teaching artist, Carolina Alvarado Herald, the program nurtures both artistic skills and self-expression, helping children build connections with their peers and their community. Each session emphasizes hands-on explorations, collaboration, and the joy of making art.
YEP is more than just an after school activity–it’s a place where children can disconnect from screens, connect with their creative sides, and discover the joy of actualizing their personal visions through the power of making art.
