VAMS After School Program (VASP) offers a welcoming, creative space where young artists can explore their imaginations, learn new skills, and build confidence.
About the Program
The VAMS After School Program offers children in Grades 1–5 a fun, creative space to explore the visual arts. In this 9 week program, young artists will experiment with painting, drawing, clay sculpture, and basic printmaking while developing confidence, imagination, and creative problem solving skills.
Classes run Tuesday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30, with small group sizes to ensure each child receives personalized guidance and encouragement. No prior art experience is required–just curiosity and a willingness to create!
Led by teaching artist, Carolina Alvarado Herald, the program nurtures both artistic skills and self-expression, helping children build connections with their peers and their community. Each session emphasizes hands-on explorations, collaboration, and the joy of making art.
VASP is more than just an after school activity–it’s a place where children can disconnect from screens, connect with their creative sides, and discover the joy of actualizing their personal visions through the power of making art.
